Oyster Roast
The Rotary Club of Baltimore holds an annual Oyster Roast and Silent Auction to help
fund the various charitable works of the Club. Last year, over 2,500 people attended,
making it one of the areas largest and our main fundraiser. Over $30,000 was raised.
This money was used to help provide numerous college scholarships for deserving high school
students, send inner city fifth graders to summer camp, hand deliver a dictionary to EVERY
third grader in a Baltimore City public school, provide the funding of a reading room at
Cherry Hill Elementary School, plant trees to preserve local watersheds and feed the homeless.
We are holding our 87th Oyster Roast on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 12noon to 4:00pm at the
Fifth Regiment Armory.
Advance sale tickets are $45 and tables of ten are available for $450 by calling Howard Weisberg at 410-744-4313. The cost is $50 at the door.
There will be gambling wheels including the famous bacon wheel, a silent auction including sports memorabilia,
all the oysters you can eat: on the half shell, fried, oyster stew plus pit beef, pit turkey, draft beer, and sodas.
